- Yuniboat is the French pioneer of eco-reconditioning for leisure and professional boats.
Facing a national fleet of 1.2 million boats – nearly 250,000 of which are potentially suitable for reconditioning – and increasing decarbonization pressure by 2030, Yuniboat has developed an industrial response based on the circular economy.
Its model is built on a simple principle: extend the lifespan of boats rather than produce new ones or prematurely dismantle existing vessels. Through a structured 6-step process (eligibility audit, sorting, hull refurbishment, standardized reassembly, engine modernization, and final customization), Yuniboat preserves up to 80% of original components while integrating cleaner technologies (electric propulsion, biofuels, optimized thermal engines).
The result: boats up to 60% less expensive than new ones, fully guaranteed, more reliable than standard second-hand options, and with a significantly reduced environmental footprint.
Since 2022, Yuniboat has validated its model within an experimental shipyard. More than 50 boats have been sold, preventing over 60 tons of waste. The company already exports 20% of its revenue.
Recognized for its innovation and impact, Yuniboat has been awarded and shortlisted in numerous competitions (Tech For Future, EnterPRIZE Generali, Audacity Awards, Innovation Nautique). It is incubated by Atlanpôle, certified by Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique and Ruptur, a member of INEC (National Institute for Circular Economy), and part of the ADEME EFC Chrysalide program.
The ambition is now industrial: to deploy a first 4.0 facility capable of reconditioning 500 boats per year, generating 65 jobs and avoiding 500 tons of waste annually, before expanding across Europe.
Yuniboat does not simply repair boats — it is building a new circular industrial sector dedicated to maritime transition and decarbonization.
